Two Brothers Arrested in Connection with Hyde Park Shooting and Homicide

BOSTON, June 16, 2020 — Suffolk County District Attorney Rachael Rollins today announced the arrest of two men on murder and other charges in connection with the May 19, 2020 homicide of Israel Mayhew, 26, of Dorchester, and the wounding of a woman.

Brothers JERRY PIERRE-LOUIS, 21, of Mattapan and VIERRY PIERRE-LOUIS, 18, of Randolph were arrested today on charges of murder, assault with intent to murder and assault with a dangerous weapon.

“There is no place for this kind of violence in our communities and my office has made a solemn vow to hold those who commit violence accountable for their actions,’’ said DA Rollins. “If you carry an illegal firearm, commit an act of violence, or risk the lives and safety of others we will hold you accountable and you will be removed from the community.”

The brothers are expected to appear virtually on June 17, 2020 in the West Roxbury Division of the Boston Municipal Court.

Because the shootings took place on state Department of Conservation and Recreation property, the investigation – which is on-going – is being led by the DA’s office and conducted by the State Police with the assistance of Boston Police.

“I am thankful for the diligence and commitment of our State Police Detective Unit and support from the Boston Police. It is this collaboration that lead to today’s arrest,’’ said DA Rollins.

All charged individuals are presumed innocent until and unless found guilty in a court of law.
