Boston Man Held Without Bail for June 12 Shooting Murder

BOSTON, June 27, 2022—A Boston man was ordered held without bail today after being charged with shooting to death a 20-year-old man in Roxbury on June 12, Suffolk District Attorney Kevin Hayden announced.

SHIVON DORSEY, 24, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Jordan Bridgeman-Dicks.

Assistant District Attorney Sarah McEvoy said the shooting occurred just before 9:30 p.m. at 74 Rockland Street.  Witnesses reported someone running from the scene and dropping something, later determined to be a phone.  Witnesses described the person’s clothing.  Video from the scene confirmed a person running in the direction described by witnesses and wearing clothing consistent with witness descriptions.

Police the next day found an inside-out sweatshirt, a phone, and a gun in the area through which the suspect fled.  The gun had Shivon Dorsey’s fingerprint on the magazine and was a ballistic match to the casings at the scene and the projectiles recovered from Bridgeman-Dicks during the autopsy.  Also, both phones recovered contained photos of a person believed to be Shivon Dorsey.  In one of the photos Dorsey is wearing clothing consistent with what was described by witnesses and shown on video.
