Boston man charged with stabbing outside of Roadrunner faces dangerousness hearing
BOSTON, December 18, 2024 – A Boston man charged with stabbing another man multiple times after a concert at a Brighton music hall earlier this month was arraigned yesterday and is being held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing Friday, Suffolk District Attorney Kevin Hayden announced.
COLLIN HULLUM, 36, of Boston was charged with assault to kill and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury. Judge Steven Kim ordered Hullum held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing on December 20.
At about 2:34 a.m. on December 1, Boston police responded to the Roadrunner located at 89 Guest Street for a person stabbed. Officers observed the victim, 26, being treated by Boston EMS for five stab wounds to his back area.
Surveillance video shows a verbal argument between the victim’s group and three unidentified males inside the foyer of the Warrior Ice Arena, located at 90 Guest Street. One of the males, later identified as Hullum, is seen striking the victim on his back area. The victim is then seen running away from Hullum, clutching his back.
Hullum is also seen holding a knife in a TikTok video that was posted online.
Witnesses reported that the fight had begun because Hullum’s sister had cut the line at the bar and was confronted for doing so. She then told Hullum she had been assaulted.
Surveillance video shows Hullum walking to his car after the stabbing and driving away at approximately 2:46 a.m. Officers confirmed the motor vehicle was registered to Hullum. Based on witness statements and surveillance video, investigators identified Hullum and successfully sought a warrant for his arrest.
A second individual was also observed carrying a knife during the altercation and at one point attempted to stab two individuals while inside the foyer of the Warrior Ice Arena. That individual will be charged at a later time.
The victim appeared to have attempted to break up the altercation before being stabbed.
“What was supposed to be an evening out enjoying a show quickly turned into a violent altercation that resulted in one man facing serious injuries and another man facing serious charges. The victim here seemed to be attempting to stop the violence. I thank him for that and I wish him a full recovery,” Hayden said.
All charged individuals are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
