Juvenile held on West Roxbury home invasion, armed robbery

BOSTON, December 31, 2024 –A West Roxbury teenager has been ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing after being charged in Dorchester Juvenile Court today with home invasion and armed robbery stemming from an incident in West Roxbury where he and two other males brandished weapons and stole an iPhone and numerous clothing items from a male victim, including the $300 Spyder pants the victim was wearing, District Attorney Kevin Hayden announced.

The juvenile, 15, will return to court on January 10 for the dangerousness hearing. Prosecutors also asked the judge to revoke the juvenile’s bail on two open cases. The judge did not rule on that request pending the dangerousness hearing.

At about 1 p.m. on Sunday, November 17, the three males entered a residence on Weld Street in West Roxbury. The victim heard the males enter and sought refuge in a second-floor bedroom. The males followed the victim to the bedroom. One of the males pulled out a black handgun and the other two brandished knives. The male with the handgun told the victim “Give me all your stuff or I’m gonna shoot you and the dog.” The victim’s dog was in a crate in the living room.

The three males stripped the victim of his Spyder pants, then stole his iPhone 13 and other items including Atlanta Dunks sneakers valued at $200, Lavins sneakers valued at $600, Alexander McQueen sneakers valued at $500, Balenciaga shoes valued at $1,000, and Jordan sneakers valued at $120.

Boston police detectives conducted a lengthy investigation incorporating surveillance video from the area around the Weld Street residence and witness descriptions of the three males involved. The investigation led to the identification of the juvenile and police obtained a warrant for his arrest. Investigators are still seeking the other individuals involved.

“I think anyone pondering this scenario can instantly understand the fear this victim must have felt as he endured this harrowing experience. I’m thankful that neither the victim or his dog were injured in this incident and I’m grateful for the diligent work of Boston police detectives to identify the juvenile defendant,” Hayden said.

All charged individuals are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
