Victim Services
Civil Rights/High-Risk Victims Unit
The staff of the Civil Rights and High-Risk Victims Unit handles civil rights cases, hate crimes, and supports older adults and individuals with physical or developmental disabilities who have been victimized by crime.
While crime can affect anyone regardless of age, older adults are often at increased risk for harm through financial scams. High-Risk Victims Unit prosecutors and advocates are familiar with many of these schemes and work to prevent as well as prosecute them.
In addition to assistance offered through this office, a number of agencies offer services and helpful information to seniors, those living with disabilities, and their loved ones and caretakers.
