Dorchester man arraigned on drug, gun charges held on $15,100 bail
BOSTON, October 13, 2022 —A Dorchester man is being held without bail today following a search of his residence and vehicle that yielded drugs, a firearm, several firearm magazines, a bulletproof vest, digital scales and more than $29,000 in cash. District Attorney Kevin Hayden announced.
ANTHONY MUCCI, 31, was arraigned in Dorchester BMC on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and trafficking a Class B substance. Judge Jonathan Tynes ordered Mucci held in lieu of bail totaling $15,100. Mucci will return to court November 7 for a pre-trial conference.
Assistant District Attorney Nicole Gemba said that on Wednesday, October 12, members of the Boston Police Drug Control Unit executed a search warrant on Mucci’s person, vehicle and Manley Street residence in Dorchester. In the vehicle, officers found 14 bags of cocaine, five bags of crack cocaine, digital scales and cell phones. In his residence they found a black Taurus G2c 9mm firearm containing a magazine with 10 rounds, a separate magazine with 10 rounds, a tactical body armor vest, heat sealers, plastic baggies and $28,500 in cash. On Mucci’s person officers found an additional $611 in cash.
“So much of the illicit drug activity we see has some linkage with illegal guns, and so often we see illegal guns being seized along with illicit drugs, as in this case. Both are a constant source of concern for residents, and both contribute to the destabilization of our neighborhoods,” Hayden said.
