Randolph man who held a gun to woman’s head held without bail pending dangerousness hearing
BOSTON, November 1, 2022 —A Randolph man who held a gun to the head of a woman Sunday is being held without bail pending a November 4 dangerousness hearing, District Attorney Kevin Hayden announced.
ANTHONY JACKSON, 23, was charged in Dorchester BMC yesterday with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, threats and various firearm offenses, including illegal possession of large-capacity magazines and possessing a firearm with a defaced serial number. Judge Joseph Griffin ordered Jackson held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing on Friday.
Assistant District Attorney Brandon DeAvilla said that on Sunday at 11:11 a.m. Boston police responded to a call for a person with a gun at Creston St. in Roxbury. Officers met with witnesses who told them that three people, including the victim, were sitting in a car when a man approached, pulled out a black handgun and placed it to the victim’s head, threatening to kill her. The man then fled into a home on Creston St. Witnesses provided a description of the man and his clothing. Police saw a man matching the description, who turned out to be Jackson, exit the home and arrested him.
Police executed a search warrant on the home and seized two Glock firearms, one with a magazine containing 22 bullets and another with a magazine containing 14 bullets.
“No shots were fired in this incident, thank goodness, but it was nonetheless terrifying for everyone involved, particularly the person targeted by this defendant. This case highlights yet again the pervasive problem of too many firearms in our neighborhoods, and highlights the need for all sectors of our society to join our efforts to address the problem,” Hayden said.
